Dr. Debranjan Giri hails from Orissa where he began his Musical Journey. He first learnt under his Guru Dr. Damodar Hota (Gwalior Gharana) and then got trained under Dr. Chittranjan Jyotishi (Gwalior Gharana) under whom he also pursued and completed his Dr. of Music from B.H.U. Most remarkably, he learnt from PadmaShree Pandit Balwant Rao Bhatt (also known As ‘Bhavrang’) for 14 long years in a Guru-Shishya Parampara. He specializes in Classical Music, Dhrupad, Dhamar, Khayal, Bhajan, Ghazal And voice culture. He has a keen interest in finding out how Music affects our brain and our body and thus has been researching for the last 15 years on this topic of ‘Music Therapy’ and gaining more knowledge and insight as to how Music can heal.
Dr. Sweta Chakraborty hails from Kolkata, where she began her musical journey with the support and encouragement from her father, late. Shri Basanta Ranjan Chakraborty. She accquired her fundamental training from her first Guru - Her Mother, Smt. Manjusree Chakraborty who gave her the basic training In Vocals And Harmonium from the age Of 4, thus making her foundation in music very strong. She then took training from Late. Manas Chakraborty (Kirana Gharana), Late. Getosree Umadey (Kirana Gharana). She then learnt under Late. Smt. Girija Devi (Benares Gharana) followed by Dr. Chittranjan Jyotishi (Gwalior Gharana) under whom she also pursued and completed her Dr. of Music from B.H.U. coming from such a well diverse background, she Is versatile and well versed In various forms of singing like classical, semi classical – Thumri, Dadra, Kajri, Chaiti, Hori, Jhula, Rasiya, Folk, Bhajan, Ghazal, Sufi, Geet, Ragasroyee, Filmy And Western Opera.
